The details:

  • Permanent Full Time
  • $71,286 pa (includes industry allowance and uniform allowance) + 12% super + leave loading. Please note, progression in remuneration (up to Level 8 - $75,358 pa with allowances + super) is available for this position upon meeting performance and training requirements outlined in a structured crew leader framework.
    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream B) - Level 6 of the EBA5
  • 9 day fortnight
  • 76 hour fortnight
  • Location: Margate 

About our opportunity

This position will have you taking the lead in a two person crew undertaking operational survey duties of Council's underground assets/stormwater drainage network through closed circuit television (CCTV) inspections and identifying any defects or rectification works required. This will include some general labouring and operating relevant equipment related to CCTV to inspect to identify any infrastructure defects requiring attention. As the crew leader, you'll also be involved in developing and reviewing plans and maintenance schedules and maintaining the associated records and you'll also be regularly engaging with a range of people - both internal and external to Council.

About you

Ideally your application will have demonstrated experience undertaking inspections on similar infrastructure and/or using CCTV drainage inspection equipment. You'll have the ability to undertake a range of administrative activities using software programs or apps, excellent written and verbal communication skills and some experience working with and leading people. Safety is a key priority for us as an organisation, and we will be seeking candidates who not only have the knowledge and physical ability to safely undertake the manual tasks required in this role, we want you to have a genuine desire to contribute to a positive safety culture.

Paired with the above mentioned skills and experience, we'll need you to hold:

  • a current truck licence (minimum MR class - medium rigid) 
  • a construction induction card (or willingness to obtain prior to commencing) 
  • current first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to commencing) 
  • a traffic management implementation licence or equivalent (or willingness to obtain prior to commencing) 
  • a Certificate III in Civil Construction
