The details:

  • Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight
  • $101k - $112k pa + 12% super
    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 6-7 of EBA5
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including the option for 1-2 work from home days a week.
  • Location: Predominantly Caboolture, with the requirement to travel to other work locations periodically such as North Lakes and Strathpine.

We are on the search for an experienced human resource advisor ready for that next challenge!

This role will see you partnering closely with our Community and Environmental Services teams, providing team members and leaders with proactive and responsive coaching and advice on all people matters. These teams will bring good scope in the variety of roles and skill sets you will be liaising with, and contain a large component of our community facing workforce. 

You will lead workplace investigations and performance management processes to resolve complex matters, and provide high level advice and information to leaders in relation to industrial relations, performance management, and other related matters.  You'll also:

  • Develop an effective business partnership with key stakeholders and partner with department leaders to understand their business requirements, identify trends, develop solutions and strategies to meet their long-term operational requirements.
  • Coach and provide expert advice to leaders on people and capability initiatives to build effective leadership capability within the client function.
  • Deal with discipline issues and/or staffing complaints quickly and impartially, referring them to senior management as appropriate.
  • Consult, direct and influence the business through organisational design strategy, including change management, restructuring, redeployment & workforce planning.
  • Coach and develop the People and Capability Officer to deliver day to day advice, support and coaching for employees and leaders.
  • Provide insight into trends to the People and Capability leadership team on organisational culture challenges and leadership development requirements to inform future organisational development initiatives.

About you

We are seeking a HR generalist experienced in advising on ER/IR matters and Enterprise Agreements, excited by the opportunity to make a cultural difference in a growing organisation.

You will be a confident communicator, with the ability to quickly embed yourself as a trusted advisor for the leadership team.  

Bringing a strategic approach, you will have a high level of business acumen and understanding of core drivers of business to help influence and deliver change and workforce planning.

With your demonstrated analytical, research and problem solving skills, you will be confident in independently handling complex workforce matters and investigations, and identifying emergent issues and developing recommendations for their resolution.
